The best way to kick off Pride weekend in San Diego!

Pride of Hillcrest Block Party will return to Pride Plaza to kick off San Diego Pride weekend on Friday. This all-ages event celebrates the culture, history, diversity and LGBTQ+ community that lives, works and plays in San Diego's most colorful and vibrant community.

Pride Block Party features a diverse lineup of local and international talent. The festival features a gigantic cocktail bar and beer garden, food trucks, spectacular drag shows, go-go dances, a massive Ferris wheel, a DJ dance party, and YOU!

Friday 7/19:

5 pm: Event Opens

6 pm: Stonewall Rally with SD Pride

7 pm: Dance Party under the Flag begins

The Pride Block Party is set to dazzle attendees this weekend with the exciting addition of two spectacular drag performances. These additions promise to bring even more color, charisma, and entertainment to an already vibrant celebration of love and diversity.

First up is the dynamic duo of Queen Billyanna and Kiki Vogue. Known for their high-energy performances and captivating stage presence, these queens are sure to leave the audience in awe. Adding to the excitement is the performance Jazzlene x Fruit Punch. Renowned for their powerful vocals and theatrical performances they're going to blow you away!

Performer Announcement: Aliyah's Interlude

We're announcing our headliner for Hillcrest's Pride Block Party: Aliyah's Interlude! Performer, fashionista, influencer, Aliyah's Interlude is poised on the eve of greatness with her hits like Fashion Icon and It Girl. Aliyah's Interlude will be performing at Pride Block Party alongside Hillcrest's favorite DJs and Queens.

An interstellar line-up of DJs will be joining us for Pride Block Party to kick off Pride Weekend!

Jinx Mirage: Hailing originally from the East Coast, Jinx Mirage has solidified their place in the Hillcrest & Palm Springs nightlife scene as a resident DJ over the last 4 years. Jinx is excited to be performing at Sunday Funday with their High Energy style and groovy blend of Classic-, Disco- and Tech House.

Ryan Skyy: DJ, producer with five No. 1 Billboard-charting remixes and Top 40 Billboard-charting single. Host of “Life Rhythms” podcast and radio show on Idobi Radio—home to 6.9 million monthly listeners.

Friday: Stonewall Rally (Free Event!)

The Stonewall Rally is a massive free gathering, hosted by San Diego Pride, to get Pride Weekend started. Empowering speeches, moving testimony, and a massive pride flag raising~ you have to be there to see it. You will know what Pride means if you’re there!

San Diego’s first rally was held in 1975. The Spirit of Stonewall Rally is a time to recognize and honor leaders who are working hard to preserve our gains and meet the many challenges still facing our community. It is a time for us to honor our origins, celebrate those who are leading the way, and call our community to action around some of our movement’s most pressing issues.

Dance Party

From 7 pm until 11 pm, a huge dance party will take over Hillcrest! Hillcrest’s best DJs will be rocking the Block Party!

Craft Cocktail Bar:

Our friends at Jim Beam, EFFEN Vodka, Tequila Hornitos MX, Red Bull, and The Barkeep Company are making unique and delectable craft cocktails just for you and they're perfect to get you in the mood for Pride!

Drink Menu:

Eat My Peach features a healthy pour of Jim Beam Bourbon and Dekuyper Peach, a fizz of Ginger Beer, and a touch of Hot Honey. A sweet and spicy delight!
Kinky Cucumber features cool Effen Vodka and Dekuyper Watermelon with fresh Cucumber, Mint, and Lime. Cool, crisp, and oh-so-refreshing!
Heat of the Night is Hornitos Tequila infused with Spicy Pineapple Juice, a splash of Lime, and a Tajin rim. It's spicy, tangy, and absolutely irresistible!
Dollbaby Drop brings a blend of Truly Berry Vodka, Cruzan Rum, Gilby's Gin, Triple Sec, and a zesty Lemon Lime twist. A fruity explosion of flavors that'll keep you dancing all night!
Like A Virgin is a refreshing twisted mocktail featuring fresh Cucumber, Mint, Lime, and a splash of Soda, perfectly seasoned with Tajin. Cool, crisp, and totally delicious!

The massive bar at Pride Block Party will be stacked with delicious craft beers from our friends at Coors Light, Blue Moon, and Hop Valley Brewing Co. Refreshing Coors Light and characterful Blue Moon will be available along with Hop Valley's Stash Panda IPA. Stash Panda Hazy IPA features a hefty helping of grapefruit peel, giving this bright, hazy tropical ale an unmasked citrus flavor and aroma.

Pride Block Party is All Ages

Pride is not limited by anything and this year Pride Block Party welcomes all ages! Families, teens, bears, and otters are all welcome at our celebration under the Pride Flag! Of course, you have to be 21+ to drink and the Block Party, but anyone can dance, STRUT, vogue with the Queens, shop our vendors, and ride the Massive Ferris wheel.

A couple of other things to remember. The Stonewall Rally is free for everyone. Come down on Friday at 5pm for the rally. People with disabilities should identify themselves to PBP staff or security so we can make sure they get the most out of this event. We recommend you don’t bring your pets. It’s a busy event with lights and sounds and animals might be afraid.

Block Party is part of Huge Pride Weekend including other events including She Fest, the Stonewall Rally, and a massive Pride Parade with over 100 floats!

Each year Pride Block Party is part of a week-long series of activities and events in Hillcrest in partnership with San Diego Pride. The week starts with Shefest on Saturday 7/9, continues with the Pride Block Party and the Stonewall Rally on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, a massive Pride Parade starts at the Hillcrest Pride Flag!

Staying Safe During Pride

In the past these have been some security concerns during Pride (such as cell phone theft). Let’s all work together to keep everyone safe during Pride weekend. San Diego Police will have officers out during events doing their best to watch for suspicious activity but as we know, Hillcrest is safer when we all work together. Here are some helpful hims to staying safe during the Block Party:

  • Keep your your phone secure. Thieves often target cell phones in back pockets or open bags. Keep your phone in your front pocket.

  • Stay aware of your drinks. People are often victimized through tampering with drinks. Always keep your drinks close.

  • Stay with your friends. Come together and leave together. Use “find my friends” features on apps to make sure you know where your group is.

  • If you see something say something. Bar staff, security and the SDPD are all working together to keep you safe. You can help by keeping security in the loop if you see something.

  • Be aware of catfishing. People are victimized by online stalkers and during Pride the LGBT community is often targeted. If something is too good to be true, check with your friends, and proceed with caution.
